Vmagazine tell us they're 'about to put the heat on summer' with their up-coming Summer Swimsuit edition of the mag, due out 6 May. They've only gone and managed to bag 6 of the worlds most notorious, iconic supermodels to front the 80's inspired colourful magazine covers. The Six supermodels, namely Kate Moss, Gisele Bundchen, Daria Werbowy, Naomi Campbel, Claudia Schiffer and Eva Herzigova will individualy grace one of each of the six colorful covers in a brilliant, vibrant shoot by famed photographer Mario Testino. In choosing the covergirls, we're told the only requirement was that they all be recognisable immediately by just their first names.
V Magazine was launched in September, 1999 as the younger ‘ready-to-wear’ publication to the limited-edition, ‘couture’ quarterly, Visionaire. About the shoot, the editor-in-chief of V Magazine, Stephen Gan, said:
“Mario Testino and I started talking about doing a swimsuit issue about this time last year. We aimed for something like a cool fashion insider’s answer to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues. We chose the sexiest bodies in the world and those that had a special connection to the testino world; a lot of the guys and girls photographed grew up with V readers over the years.”
